Kansas City Regional FIRST Robotics Competition
Website
Description
FIRST - For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology
60 high school robotics teams from around the country are scheduled to compete in Kansas City this week.
These students were given the rules for this year's challenge early in January. They had six weeks to design, build, and deliver a robot; an unbelievable feat on its own. How many corporations would be able to deliver a working robot in this time frame?
The event is free so come out and help cheer on these high school teams.
If you've never seen one of these events you should try and get down to Hale Arena. This is a cross between a Rock Concert, Major Sporting Event, and a NASCAR event with intense activity in the pits all rolled into one.
- March 4 is setup for the teams, tech checks and practice rounds
- March 5 is qualification rounds.
- March 6 final qualifications and championship rounds.
The event is free but there is a fee for parking. This is at the Hale Arena (next to Kemper Arena)
